Marvel Studios has officially announced the upcoming Season 2 of “I Am Groot,” featuring the beloved Flora Colossus and Guardian of the Galaxy. In this new season, Baby Groot embarks on exciting adventures across the universe aboard the Guardians’ spacecraft, encountering vibrant creatures and captivating landscapes.
Vin Diesel will continue to star in the series, while Kirsten Lepore returns as the writer and director for Season 2, just as she did for the well-received Season 1. The first season, launched almost a year ago in August 2022, garnered positive reviews from critics but fell short in terms of viewership.
The animation of the series was really really good but the whole series is nothing but milking of a highly popular character. Groot is not a very important character in MCU but the sole reason Marvel is bringing a second season is because of the cuteness and popularity of Groot.
And yes, it is backfiring Marvel already. Thankfully with slowed production and delays, there will be some relief for the fans.
Supervising producer Danielle Costa will lead the production team, with Craig Rittenbaum and Alex Scharf as producers.
Fans can anticipate the release of “Marvel Studios’ I Am Groot Season 2” on September 6, exclusively on Disney Plus. The new season will showcase five fresh and exciting shorts, offering viewers more of Groot’s captivating escapades.
