Along with the enormous slate of movies and shows, JioCinema has announced one more project. The platform has released a teaser for a show starring Rakul Preet Singh as its lead. The show is named ‘I Love You’ and it looks like some sort of a romantic thriller. It is written and directed by Nikhil Mahajan and has some beautiful music in it (the voice of Adnan Sami in the teaser is enough to give you chills).
The show will have Rakul, Pavail Gulati and Akshay Oberoi in the lead roles. The teaser features Pavail Gulati giving quite a weird and vague monologue on love, following the typical Bollywood style, but there is a surprise in the end.
It looks like Pavail plays a hopeless romantic or a one-sided lover who tries to pursue Rakul for quite a time in vain. He says in the monologue, that even if you cannot be with her, you can at least love her from far and keep a look at where she is and who she is going with etc. It gets quite creepy here as the teaser started with a somewhat romantic note. Rakul, in the end, is found locked inside a highrise building and moments later she is seen unconscious with her mouth taped and ‘I Love You’ written on the tape.
Akshay Oberoi is known for playing some dark villainous roles. It is still a question whether he will be playing the villain here or not. So will ‘I Love You’ be the ‘Darr’ of the OTT age and tell the story of an obsessed psycho lover? Or will it be something different? Only time will tell.
