Trailer for Vidyut Jammwal’s upcoming spy thriller film ‘IB 71’ is here and it’s all about the top secret mission that made India win the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Helmed by National Award winning filmmaker Sankalp Reddy, ‘IB 71’ will release in cinemas on 12th May, 2023.
‘IB 71’ trailer starts off with India in a situation where it is unprepared and oblivious of the imminent war by Pakistan with China supporting it. Getting to know about the attack just 10 days before, government swiftly gets into planning mode but the two front war and so less time needs an out of the box solution and that’s when agent Dev Jammwal (Vidyut Jammwal) offers the idea of creating a scenarios that makes Pakistan block the air space.
And then begins the plotting of a top secret mission that nothing less than suicidal and involves 30 agents on board a decommissioned, piece of a junk plane called Ganga. With the intention of entering Pakistan and stopping it from inside 30 agents led by one courageous officer take on a deadly mission that makes India win the war it wasn’t ready for.
Set in the times before the 1971 Indo-Pak war, ‘IB 71’ is an untold story based on true events about India’s confidential victory against Pakistan. The patriotic spy thriller drama follows IB Agent Dev Jammwal as he goes on a top secret mission to save the nation. It is the story of 3 nations, 30 agents and 1 top secret mission.
Vidyut Jammwal not only stars in ‘IB 71’ but the film also marks his production debut under his banner Action Hero Films. The film also stars Anupam Kher, Dalip Tahil, Vishal Jethwa and Diwakar Dhyani among others.
‘IB 71’ is written and directed by Sankalp Reddy (‘The Ghazi Attack’, ‘Pitta Kathalu’) with a story by Aditya Shastri. The film is produced by Vidyut Jammwal, Abbas Sayyed, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar. The production companies behind the film are Action Hero Films, Reliance Entertainment and T-Series.
