Salim-Javed were among the first Indian screenwriters to achieve star status. They worked together on 24 films between 1971 and 1987, of which 20 were commercially and critically successful.
Marking the directorial debut of Namrata Rao, Prime Video‘s ‘Angry Young Men’ is an engrossing docuseries that traces the journey of the writer duo Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar. This riveting three-part series provides a glimpse into the legendary partnership of Salim-Javed, who revolutionised Hindi cinema in the 1970s.
With candid narration by the duo themselves and anecdotes from industry stalwarts, ‘Angry Young Men’ chronicles how their hard-hitting scripts and the iconic ‘Angry Young Man’ persona they created captured the voice of a generation and left an enduring cultural impact through blockbusters like ‘Sholay’, ‘Deewaar’, ‘Don’ and many more.
