Netflix India is going through a tough time. We do realise that they have just enjoyed the huge success of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar and Laapata Ladies but…the problems with Maharaj might be causing anxiety.
Binged informed its readers that there is a stay order on Maharaj and that has caused the film to be away from streaming at least till the 18th of June. Lord knows if Netflix India would even release the film. Now that the right-wing organisations have gone to court, they are definitely going to create a campaign against the film when it is released. Even sad for Netflix India is the fact that Maharaj is no Sanjay Leela Bhansali project that people will turn up in favour of the film.
But, we have information about the next original film by Netflix India if it is not Maharaj. This one is called “Wild Wild Punjab”. The plot revolves around 4 friends who decide to raid the wedding of an ex-girlfriend of one of them. As you would already know, this decision is followed by chaos.
The cast includes Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh, Patralekhaa, Sunny Singh, Ishita Raj and more.
There is no specific release date of the film as of now but this is going to be the next original film on Netflix India.
