Globally renowned movies database entertainment portal IMDb houses a list/widget of the most anticipated new Indian movies and shows (both theatrical and OTT) that ascertains the real-time popularity of that title. This is determined by the number of pageviews these titles are generating on IMDb. Each title is then ranked by IMDb as per the aggregate number of pageviews.
The topmost spot on the IMDb list has been bagged by V. Yeshasvi’s directorial venture ‘Siddharth Roy’ starring Deepak Saroj in the lead role.
On the second spot of the IMDb list is the supernatural horror movie ‘Shaitaan’ which features Ajay Devgn, R. Madhavan, and Jyothika in the lead roles. The film’s plot ostensibly revolves around a family, whose lives take a drastic turn when a mysterious stranger enters their lives.
The third place on the IMDb to ten list has been secured by Kiran Rao’s ‘Laapataa Ladies’. The rural drama tells the story of two brides named Jaya and Phool, who get mistakenly swapped during a train journey. While Jaya enters the joint family of Phool’s husband, Phool finds herself alone in a secluded railway station.
Other than big-screen releases, not even a single direct-to-OTT film has found a place on the IMDb list. Despite the fact that a hard-hitting film like ‘Bhakshak’ is set to release on Netflix in a few days. The film follows a courageous journalist (played by Bhumi Pednekar), who investigates a sensitive case of assault in a shelter for young girls.
