Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan is all geared up to star in his forthcoming acting projects namely Atlee’s yet-untitled directorial action film co-starring Nayanthara and Siddhartha Anand’s ‘Pathan’ co-starring John Abraham and Deepika Padukone.
Into the bargain and in a delightful update for SRK fans, the superstar has reportedly commenced script reading sessions with Rajkumar Hirani for the eminent filmmaker’s next movie. Rajkumar Hirani’s long-time associate Boman Irani, who is also essaying a part in the film has revealed the development to news publication Dainik Bhaskar. As per the report, pre-production work for the SRK-Hirani’s movie is also moving forward, and Rajkumar Hirani had spent a lot of time developing the film’s story.
Ostensibly because of Rajkumar Hirani’s aforementioned film with Shah Rukh Khan, it looks like the next installment of the Munnabhai film series might be getting postponed by two years. Precisely when the SRK-Hirani project will go on floors, has not been confirmed yet.
Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Aanand L. Rai’s comedy-drama movie ‘Zero’ which had received average reviews from critics and audiences alike and was a box office disaster despite SRK’s fan following and screen presence. After Zero’s debacle, the actor had become quite selective while zeroing down on film scripts.
The combination of a gifted filmmaker of Rajkumar Hirani’s caliber and the superstar status of Shah Rukh Khan is bound to result in some sure-shot cinematic fireworks, both commercially and critically. The movie is being described as an entertaining social comedy that delves into the concept of immigration.
The film would ostensibly witness the on-screen reunion of SRK’s DDLJ co-star Kajol, who would be playing SRK’s wife in the movie. The film’s plotline purportedly revolves around the journey of a man and his family across Punjab in India and Canada. Taapsee Pannu and Vidya Balan were also in talks to star in the SRK-Hirani movie.
