Independence Day Weekend Clash: ‘Bhuj’ Vs ‘Shershaah’ Vs ‘Godzilla Vs Kong’

This Independence day weekend it’s two Bollywood biggies vs one Hollywood mammoth fighting it out on OTT. Ajay Devgn’s ‘Bhuj: The Pride of India’ on Disney+ Hotstar and Karan Johar’s ‘Shershaah’ on Amazon Prime Video will be up against not only each other but also the blockbuster monster action film ‘Godzilla Vs Kong’ on Amazon Prime Video.

Both ‘Bhuj’ and ‘Shershaah’ strike the patriotism chord very aptly and at the right time around Independence Day when every Indian feels proud of the country and it’s heroes. On the other hand, ‘Godzilla Vs Kong’ offers the best escapist experience with two mythic adversaries colliding in a battle of ages.

The difference lies in the fact that while it will be the first time for ‘Bhuj’ & ‘Shershaah’ will be presented to the public, ‘Godzilla Vs Kong’ has already proven its excellence both at the box office globally and digitally on HBO Max outside India.

Also, some have already seen Legendary’s ‘Godzilla vs Kong’ in theatres but most of the Indian audience had been waiting for it to come to OTT. Now that the wait is almost over, fans are excited to view it on Amazon Prime Video on 14th August, 2021.

Meanwhile, ‘Bhuj’, releasing on Disney+ Hotstar on 13th August after a long wait, is a film set during the 1971 Indo-Pak war and follows the story of IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik (Ajay Devgn) who reconstructed the IAF airbase with the help of local villagers. The film is a star studded affair with big names like Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi, Sharad Kelkar and Ammy Virk among others on board.

Similarly, ‘Shershaah’ premiering on Amazon on 12th August, is based on the life of Param Vir Chakra awardee Captian Vikram Batra who led one of the toughest operations in mountain warfare in Indian history. He was martyred during the Kargil war in 1999. Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani play the lead roles in this Karan Johar film.

What will be your pick for this Independence Day weekend? ‘Bhuj: The Pride of India’,‘Shershaah’ or ‘Godzilla Vs Kong’?
