Marvel‘s much-touted ‘Eternals‘ has finally opened in theatres worldwide to mixed reviews. While a section of the audience has come out in strong support of the most “un-Marvel” Marvel film yet, most audiences have panned the film for being too bloated, messy and all over the place. Though opinions are extremely divided on ‘Eternals’, the one thing everyone agrees with is the sheer watch-worthiness and entertainment quotient brought of Indian actor Harish Patel in ‘Eternals’.
For those not in the know, Harish Patel plays the character of Karun in ‘Eternals’ He is the Bollywood manager and sidekick of Kingo, the character played by Kumail Nanjiani in the film. So well-liked is Harish Patel’s Karun in Eternals, that almost everyone who has seen the film is singing Harish Patel’s praises. Western audiences are calling him the best thing in Eternals. Comments for Harish Patel range from “the guy who stole the show”, to “This guy is a hoot. Great character”, to “Best supporting character in Marvel history. Mr. Patel goated”!

Going by these tweets, and hundreds more like it, we can safely say that the verdict is unanimous – Harish Patel as Karun is the best part of Eternals! Every Indian must be so proud of the fact that an Indian actor has walked away with all the accolades in a MARVEL film.
Those not versed with Harish Patel the actor, he played the iconic role of Ibu Hatela in the 1998 film Gunda, and Seth Roopchand in the 1987 film Mr India. His iconic dialogues – “Ma meri chudail ki beti, baap mera shaitan ka chela” from the former, and “Gayi bhains paani mein” from the latter, are remembered to this day. Besides Bollywood, the actor has made a name for himself in the London theatre scene, British TV and Hollywood. His international film credits include Bokshu the Myth (2002), Chicken Tikka Masala (2005), Run Fat Boy Run (2007), All in Good Time (2012), Keith Lemon: The Movie (2012) and Jadoo (2013).
