Money is showering on both Barbie and Oppenheimer. Although Barbie is way ahead, the individual collection of Oppenheimer per se is also fantastic.
Since Barbie is no cultural icon in India, the situation is exactly the opposite. Oppenheimer is earning much more than Barbie.
But there is one particular scene that is not going well with the Indian audience. Needless to say, Robert Oppenheimer had read Bhagwat Geeta and was heavily influenced by it. He had a sound understanding of Sanskrit which has a massive pile of scientific and philosophical texts in its literature.
During the promotion of Oppenheimer, Nolan went on to say that there are prolonged sex scenes between Cillian Murphy and Florence Pugh.
In India, those scenes were either cut or the body of Florence Pugh was covered with CGI clothes.
During one of the sex scenes Murphy reads the famous Sanskrit text that says “Now, I am become death”
These lines are from Bhagwat Geeta but the film mentions the name of just Sanskrit text.
So there is a section of Indians that doesn’t like the idea of using Bhagwat Geeta lines during hanky panky. So they are calling it an attack on Hindu emotions. While another section doesn’t seem to bother about it.

Not keen on any ‘white man's validation’ of Hinduism but here are some accounts of #Oppenheimer and his fascination with Hindu texts especially Gita.
He learned Sanskrit at university
He translated Gita.
He keeps a copy on his desk.
