The official Indian entry for the Oscars and the much awaited highly acclaimed Gujarati film ‘Last Film Show’ is finally coming to Netflix. Also known as ‘Chello Show’, this heartwarming film beat the likes of ‘RRR’ to get selected for the Academy Awards from India.
Helmed by Pan Nalin, ‘Last Film Show’ is a coming-of-age drama that follows a nine year old boy Samay (Bhavin Rabari) from a village in Gujarat who spends an entire summer watching films, from the projection booth of a rundown movie place, by bribing the projectionist, Fazal (Bhavesh Shrimali). He is absolutely mesmerized by films and filmmaking, to the point that he decides to become a filmmaker, unaware of the heartbreaking times that await him.
‘Last Film Show’ stars Bhavin Rabari, Bhavesh Shrimali, Richa Meena, Dipen Raval, Paresh Mehta, Vikas Bata, Rahul Koli and Shoban Makwa among others. The film was selected as the Indian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 95th Academy Awards.
‘Last Film Show’ is written and directed by Pan Nalin who has produced the film alongside Dheer Momaya, Siddharth Roy Kapur and Marc Duale. Swapnil S. Sonawane has handled the cinematography for the film with editing by Shreyas Beltangdy and Pavan Bhat.
Presented by Roy Kapur Films and Orange Studios, ‘Last Film Show’ is a Jugaad Motion Pictures and Monsoon Films productions and will premiere exclusively on Netflix on 25th November, 2022.
