‘Indubala Bhaater Hotel‘ is all set to premiere on Hoichoi. It is one of the most anticipated projects and fans are waiting eagerly for the show. The series is based on the best seller novel of the same name by Kallol Lahiri. It revolves around the partition and how a young bride has to take refuge in an unknown land. She tries and makes a Hotel after long where she serves great food and the story goes on.
Debaloy Bhattacharya has directed the show. He is well known for directing films like ‘Dracula Sir’, ‘Biday Byomkesh’, ‘Pobitro Puppies’ and also writing screenplays for many popular films. Where it is a very good news that in the OTT industry, directors like Debaloy Bhattacharya are stepping in to tell original and unique stories. But, at the same time, Bengali filmmakers need to focus more on theatricals. The Bengali film industry is not producing many box office hits and the graph of good films is going downwards consistently.
Shubhashree looks promising in the trailer and she will definitely impress the audiences. She is mostly seen in films made by her husband Raj Chakroborty. Raj Chakroborty is known for remaking films too much but at the same time, he is responsible for many big box office successes. With Shubhashree’s debut in the OTT world, Raj Chakroborty too will possibly step into web shows.
If big names of the commercial cinema start doing artsy web shows, the film industry will have to suffer a terrible loss. There is no doubt that ‘Indubala Bhaater Hotel’ is a great story and it is necessary to tell the story on the most feasible and suitable format. But, currently filmmakers should be more inclined to cinema and as the web series industry of Bengal is doing sufficiently good, they should now focus more to revive the lost glory of bangla cinema as well.
