Netflix in the past year proved itself to be a great companion to the humans. Specially during this year and the tested times, the streaming site has proved to be a great help. Not only did it entertain us thoroughly but it also provided to be a great platform to many, specially when it came to test someone’s acting skills.
Recently, Netflix has come up with a new feature that will be available on the android version very soon. This new feature will allow the members to use the app as only in the audio format, which means one can pop on their earphones or headphones and listen to their favourite series or movie without having to watch the content. It has already been released, so depending on the phone type and the android version, the app will get updated and we need to make sure too, to see if it is completely updated or not.
The question hear arises though, that even if the audio format is available how feasible will it be for everyone? It is said at the moment, that only selected some will have the audio format. But most of us stream Netflix more for the visual pleasure. Now it would really be difficult to understand some shows and movies that only come with english subtitles and their original audio, meaning they don’t have any English language as their audio.
Netflix has already added two feature to its Android app, one being the ability to increase or decrease the playback speed and the other being the screen lock feature. Both of which are effective to us in some way or the other but the audio format of the app is still uncertain.
Many a times, updates and features are added to the apps and after not getting the required feedbacks or negative feedbacks, it is scrapped down. This might happen to the audio feature of Netflix too, who knows.
But on the other hand the audio feature can introduce a whole new ball game for Netflix too. What if Netflix in future introduces the Podcast shows. It will be a major success and added bonus for the streaming site along with this feature. That being said, again its all upto the higher ups at this point and a waiting game for all of us as to how this app feature plays out to be.
