Invincible Season 2 Part 1 expertly leverages the prominence of Season 1 and takes Robert Kirkman’s creation in new directions. However, we have watched only the first four episodes of the second season so far. The latest entry seemed intriguing, but it also left us with several unanswered questions.
Part 1 of Season 2 tackled numerous plot points, with Mark and Omni-Man taking on the Viltrumite soldiers emerging as the most important one. Season 2 gives more emotional depth to many characters, especially the protagonist and his mother, Debbie Grayson. It also proved that Omni-Man has changed, as he does not look as villainous as he was in Season 1. Still, many fans are questioning his intent. In addition, they want to know what will happen to Mark, Omni-Man, and the rest of the characters in the upcoming episodes.
Debbie’s closure on Omni-Man’s heinous actions
We know what brutality Omni-Man displayed in Season 1. His actions affected Debbie the most. While she loved him with all her heart, Nolan considered her as a pet. She tries her best to bestow love and support to Mark. But it is clearly visible that the pain has consumed her. She even became a part of a support group to overcome her pain. However, her plan went south as one of the members of the group lost his partner to Omni-Man’s actions in Season 1. Will she be able to move on? Will she find closure on Nolan’s actions? Part 2 needs to answer this scenario.
What is going on with Atom Eve?
The only trait that connects Atom Eve with Batman is her nature of working on her own. She does not like following orders. Instead, she prefers using her powers to do some actual good. She remained the same in Season 2 as well. However, numerous of her good plans or intentions did not work out the way she wanted them to be. As a result, we see her questioning her own intent and getting isolated from her close ones. Will she change in Season 2?
When will the Viltrumites arrive on Earth?
We know that the Viltrumite general, Kregg, is hell-bent on invading the Earth. In the last episode, he proposes to Mark to either finish Nolan’s work or become the reason for the planet’s destruction. His proposal puts the Earth in grave danger, as the residents of this planet do not have enough resources and power to take down the Viltrumites. Omni-Man has been taken by the Viltrumites, who intend to execute him. This scenario leaves Mark as the only one who can actually match Viltrumites in terms of powers. But alone, he cannot do anything. He will need help from every hero on Earth to give themselves a fighting chance.
Where the hell is Angstrom Levy?
Angstrom Levy was supposed to be Season 2’s primary antagonist. However, we do not see him after the second episode. His impact in the second season is not substantial. Though, we could see a lot more of him in the next four episodes. He wants to take revenge on Mark (the evil version from another dimension) for what happened to him. However, he has yet to encounter the original Mark Grayson. We can learn more about Angstrom’s true intentions in Part 2 of Season 2, which is scheduled to arrive on Prime Video in early 2024.
