Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly broke the news about the sequel for ‘Action Hero Biju.’ On February 4, the actor shared a photo of the sequel’s script on X (formerly Twitter), expressing gratitude for the warm reception of the original film, ‘Action Hero Biju.’
It is said that Abrid Shine, who directed the first part, will also be the director for Action Hero Biju 2. Nivin Pauly, co-producer of the original, is backing the sequel along with PS Shamnas. This marks their fourth collaboration after the movies ‘Action Hero Biju’, ‘1983’, and ‘Mahaveeryar’. While the news about the sequel is confirmed, details about the cast and crew are not yet revealed to the public.
The original film, ‘Action Hero Biju,’ was released in theaters on 4 February 2016 in Kerala and the rest of India the next day. It turned out to be a commercial success, and it also made Nivin Pauly bag the Filmfare Award for Best Actor (Malayalam) for his performance in at 64th Filmfare Awards South 2026. Starring Nivin Pauly, Anu Emmanuel, and Saiju Kurup in leading roles, this police procedural comedy film revolves around SI Biju Poulose and his colleagues dealing with various cases.
