The Bengali film ‘Bohurupi’ is without any doubt one of the biggest blockbusters from the industry in recent years and it has dominated the box office even though there were multiple anticipated releases on that very day. The movie has been released nationally on the 19th of October. But is the movie doing very well out there now?
The movie is released in multiplexes in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and it is being reported that most of the shows are going housefull. We have to recheck the fact as these cities have a considerable population of migrated Bengalis and while it is indeed a reason to rejoice, there is more to expect.
On the national Level, there is no buzz for the movie and people have not even heard about it. There is no noise on social media. This was not like this when Kantara came or Vaazhai came. The Bengali industry still has a long way to go so that the country expects something of value from it. ‘Bohurupi’, while being actually a good story with mass appeal, has not managed to attract the audiences from the Hindi belt. But it might do so in near future and it will be a huge triumphs for the makers.
