Makers of Shankar’s latest film ‘Indian 2’ have released a new “enhanced” version of the film in theatres. The film has been trimmed down by 12 minutes as a response to the audience reaction, as per the production banner behind ‘Indian 2’.
This new version of ‘Indian 2’ is being called a more “streamlined edition” that is supposed to offer a “crisper experience”. But is it what the fans and moviegoers wanted? And is it really enough to bring the audience to the theatres to watch the film which has received such negative reviews from critics and public alike?
As a response to this trimming down of the film, the general public reaction is not what the makers might have expected. The fans are not at all happy with this step as they believe the film needs at least 30 minutes cut rather than just 12.
Also, some think that no amount of shortening of the film is going to make it any good since length is not the real issue, it’s the story that is flawed and it’s too late to make amends now. Moreover, fans are eagerly waiting for ‘Indian 3’ and do not want anything to do with ‘Indian 2’.
This goes on to show that it’s not just the run time that’s wrong with ‘Indian 2’, the whole film has failed the fans who had been waiting long for it. All hopes are now on ‘Indian 3’ which might save the franchise and also impress the fans if it’s as good as the hype it has generated.
