Marvel movies are known for its use of comedy and hilarious quips had in movies and it became their trademark in the industry. Often Marvel faced criticism for being too witty. The controversial statement of Martin Scorsese calling marvel movies are like “Theme parks” had become headlines last year. But the recent projects of marvel have created hints of a new turn in MCU. The upcoming movie Multiverse of Madness will be the most prominent movie to explore this new turn. The movie is directed by Sam Raimi who had worked in several horror movies and the first spiderman trilogy.
Kevin Feige confirmed that “this will be big mcu film with scary sequences with it”. We saw how dark and bloody was the U. S agent in “Falcon and the winter Soldier” when he smashed an opponent with the shield of Captain America. That image of blood-stained shield was unexpected and never seen before in MCU. Lately Kevin Fiege described Moonknight as a brutal show. It won’t be a surprise if we witness more blood in the future projects
With the introduction of multiverse in the MCU the story has also taken some confusing and weird twists. Like we saw Loki falling in love wirh another “Loki”, the zombie version of our heroes, return of the old dead villains, whole world forgetting Peter parker and so much has happened so far which will be increasing the confusion and complexity of the upcoming projects.
The MCU is a becoming larger and larger the plot is also getting larger and since the multiverse is introduced the potential of MCU is infinite.
And with the introduction of characters like blade, black knight, daredevil who has bloody history in the comics and we even saw how much gruesome can daredevil become in the netflix show. So, considering all these factors it is evident that MCU is taking a different darker and complicated path and next time it won’t be a “Theme park” ride.
