Marvel has multiple franchises running simultaneously, and very few are as unconditionally loved as the Guardians of the Galaxy. So, when Marvel decided to give them a good farewell, it didn’t look well as people loved them. But as Gunn was going to the enemy camp, Marvel also showed him some respect, and the final installment of the film was near perfect.
Now, fans weren’t fine about the farewell, but they aren’t alone. Some of the prominent stars of the film are also in a questionable state about the decision.
Zoe Saldaña, Gamora from the franchise, was asked regarding the chances of her playing the role again. “I mean, so far, I think that she is [gone for good] for me, but I don’t think Gamora has gone for good.”
So, it is practically clear that she isn’t making any comeback soon to the universe, but she channels that Guardians of the Galaxy should make a return soon as Marvel can pull off something wonderful with them down the line.
“I would think it would be a huge loss for Marvel if they didn’t find a way to bring back the Guardians of the Galaxy,” Saldaña said. “It’s just such a fan-favorite group of misfits, you know?”
“And then at the helm, they had a voice like James Gunn’s writing — which is just so marvelous for and very specific for this genre. And it’s so great for this genre as well. So, I would be the first one in the first row to sort of celebrate when the Guardians of the Galaxy come back.”
Now, from Marvel’s point of view, they are at a stage where the studio will be working with various new franchises, and it’s somewhat better not to flood the audience with content. Previously, they did commit this mistake.
Plus, Marvel did give them a good farewell, and as they are growing like nothing, it is a wise decision to give them some rest. In terms of business POV, Guardians were definitely a tried and tested format, but to gain something, they have to lose something valuable too.
So, fans, the time ahead is exciting for you guys. Don’t always cry about the glory of the past; focus on building the future.
