Is SonyLIV Taking Scam 2003 Too Lightly?

Scam 1992 is a game changer series in the history of Indian OTT. The series not only proved to be a massive blockbuster, but it also established the fact that great content will be welcomed with even greater reception by the Indian audience.

The rage around the BGM and Harshad Mehta was something too prominent to forget in a span of 3 years. The director very successfully presented Harshad Mehta’s rise and fall which ultimately led people to relate to the character which is a great thing altogether.

Hansal Mehta returned this year with Scoop on Netflix. It is an equally great series and easily one of the best Indian OTT has ever seen.

But, it couldn’t replicate the same magnitude of success as Scam 1992.

So the question is, where are the promotions?

When the makers retained the same powerful BGM, did they not realize that it wouldn’t create a rage now?

Pratik Gandhi was all charm and attraction in Scam 1992, the same can’t be expected from Gagan Dev Riar in the upcoming series.

The trailer launch could be far more buzzier but all SonyLIV did was to randomly launch it on a Tuesday evening.

There are too many questions and sadly, they are not being answered by the current strategies. Hansal Mehta is a more than capable director and we wish everything great to him.

But let’s see what Scam 2003 does.
