The official trailer of the Tamil remake of the popular web series Panchayat has been posted by Amazon Prime India on their YouTube channel. The series is named ‘Thalaivettaiyan Paalayam’ which is assumed to be the name of the fictional village where the process of world-building occurs.
As far as the trailer is concerned, the visible change is only seen in the location and performances. The storyline, screen placement, and local setup are all equal or more look like ‘Panchayat’ itself. However, the cultural differences and comparison of performances can be seen, and are expected to give their best level.
The official synopsis read, “The comedy-drama series follows Sidharth, an engineering graduate from Chennai, who reluctantly takes on a job far outside his comfort zone as a secretary in the remote village of Thalaivettiyaan Paalayam. As he navigates the quirks of rural life and its eccentric villagers, he finds himself caught up in a comedy of errors full of twists and turns.”
The effort is directed by Naga and produced by The Viral Fever or TVF. This has also been co-produced by Arunabh Kumar. The movie will certainly focus on various issues like rural sociology, village politics, unemployment, women in work, etc. Moreover, it is expected to be a satirical comedy-drama with eight episodes which is anticipated to have a convincing and engaging factor.
Actors Abhishek Kumar, Devadarshini, and Chetan Kadambi are expected to their peak performances and be able to form an amicable comparison with their original piece of work. The web series will be released on the 20th of September and streamed on Amazon Prime Video India.
