‘Double iSmart’, the sequel to the hit 2019 Telugu language science fiction action drama ‘iSmart Shankar’ has now gone on floors with puja ceremony held today. The official shoot for the film will begin from 12th July, 2023.
The sequel was officially announced back in May this year. ‘Double iSmart’ reunites actor Ram Pothineni and director Puri Jagannadh who are expected to deliver yet another blockbuster with this latest sequel.
Puri Jagannadh had high hopes before his bilingual film ‘Liger’ starring Vijay Deverakonda released last year. But the film turned out to be a major disaster and even led to shelving of Jagannadh and Deverakonda’s other film ‘Jana Gana Mana’.
On the other hand Ram Pothineni’s last film ‘The Warriorr’ was also a huge commercial failure. The actor is currently also working on some other projects like ‘Skanda’ and an untitled Gautham Vasudev Menon film.
This makes ‘Double iSmart’ a very important film for both the director and actor and the timing for the same couldn’t have been better when both of them need it the most to prove their mettle once again.
