And now, the immensely talented filmmaker has announced that Kriti Sanon, who is essaying the role of Janaki / Sita in his forthcoming directorial film ‘Adipurush’, has wrapped filming her portions for the film.
‘Adipurush’ marks the maiden cinematic collaboration between gifted filmmaker Om Raut and ‘Mimi’ actress Kriti Sanon. Kriti Sanon is fresh off the heels of her critically acclaimed performance in the widely acclaimed film ‘Mimi’. Now that the sincere performer has already proven her acting mettle in an author-backed role in ‘Mimi’ co-starring Pankaj Tripathi, audiences are expecting another intense performance as the lead actress in ‘Adipurush’.
Om Raut’s mythological movie ‘Adipurush’ is certainly amongst the most eagerly anticipated films to be announced in the recent past. The film is based on one of the two major Hindu epics Ramayana and stars Prabhas in the titular role of Adipurush (Lord Ram), Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh (Raavan), ‘Mimi’ actress Kriti Sanon as Janaki (Goddess Sita), and Sunny Singh as Lord Ram’s brother Lakshmana.
‘Adipurush’ is expected to release in Hindi and Telugu besides being dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada languages. Reportedly made on a massive budget, Om Raut’s magnum opus ‘Adipurush’ is currently eyeing a theatrical release on 11th August 2022.
This is not the first time the ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ actress will be a part of a period film as previously, she had delivered an earnest performance in Ashutosh Gowariker’s historical war-drama ‘Panipat’ co-starring Arjun Kapoor. Besides ‘Adipurush’, Kriti Sanon’s upcoming film projects include ‘Hum Do Hamare Do’ co-starring Rajkumar Rao, ‘Bachchan Pandey’ co-starring Akshay Kumar, ‘Bhediya’ co-starring Varun Dhawan, ad ‘Shehzada’ co-starring Kartik Aaryan, amongst others.
