Every month, a host of new titles are added to Netflix India. Simultaneously, several titles leave Netflix every month too – not just in India, but across the world. This happens because Netflix doesn’t own the entire contents of its library. Some of the popular titles – both films and series – are licenced from their parent companies for a specific period of time. Sometimes Netflix renews the licence for a title. But most of the times, it doesn’t. Which means that the title leaves Netflix to return to its owner.
Different countries have different titles in their Netflix libraries. At present, Netflix India has a total of 5970 titles, out of which 3690 are movies titles, while 2280 are series.
This month, that is December, is especially painful for Netflix users. A huge number of popular titles are leaving Netflix India soon – the Dark Knight series, Interstellar, Black Hawk Down, Sherlock, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and more.
