Disney Channel kicked off the new season of its marquee show ‘Imagine That’, which returned in a brand new avatar on April 18. Committed to entertaining young fans by continuing to nurture the importance of upcycling along with the power of creativity and
imagination, the second season encourages kids to think beyond the ordinary and be imaginative through an entirely new format.
Here’s a list of what is new for viewers in the second season.
1. Host and DIY Artist
Introducing kids to a fresh new approach towards upcycling and utility through DIY, host Vishal Malhotra – popular actor and host who started his TV journey with Disney will be seen alongside a new DIY artist, Simran Kumar Puri. The camaraderie, humour and wit of the duo brings in lots of fun, energy and liveliness on the show. Together they are seen assuming the role of a friend and a companion to a whole new generation of fans; encouraging them to make repurposed DIYs a part of their everyday life.
2. Passing The Parcel
One of the unique elements of this season is the magical box that pops up every episode. The new format includes a parcel box which appears in the anchor’s workshop (each episode has a different mechanism in which the box appears). The anchor, Simran Kumar Puri, unboxes it to find random things inside it. Based on the theme of the episode, Simran then spontaneously comes up with an idea and makes a DIY product from it.
3. Two Minute Challenges
With a whole bunch of brand new activities, this season introduces a DIY two-minute challenge for the anchor, assigned by the ‘Task Master’. The anchor performs the challenges either alone or competes against another guest. The Task Master decides who has performed the task better by indicating the result through the use of lights – Yellow (Anchor has won) and Blue (opponent has won).
4. DIY with Super Makers
A brand new and fun element, the season also includes Super Makers – DIY experts from across India who have a field of specialty other than what the anchor will teach. In each episode, one of the DIY Super Maker is seen teaching a new DIY based on their expertise
and the theme of the episode. These fields include Science, Technology, Engineering, Magic, Home Utility, Puppet Making, and Pottery among others.
5. Celebrities doing DIY
Adding a fun and grand angle, celebrities who the kids look upto join the special episodes as guests. The celebrity is seen working with the anchor to learn a DIY. This has stirred more excitement amongst the fans.
