Netflix has dropped, deleted and once again dropped the trailer of its much anticipated new film ‘Jaane Jaan’ and its one thrilling crime mystery. Helmed by Sujoy Ghosh (‘Badla’’, ‘Kahaani’), ‘Jaane Jaan’ will launch exclusively on Netflix on 21st September, 2023.
‘Jaane Jaan’ trailer shows how the story is set in Kalimpong where Maya D’Souza (Kareena Kapoor), is neighbours with Naroo (Jaideep Ahlawat) a simple school teacher. But Maya has a lot of secrets and is supposedly hiding out in the quaint town of Kalimpong probably running from her past.
Searching for her comes in Karan Anand (Vijay Varma) from Mumbai Police asking her about another uniformed officer. He then starts going out with her striking the spark of jealousy with his old acquaintance Naroo who has feelings for Maya. Meanwhile Maya is smartly playing both sides. With a retro, eerie vibe the trailer plays hide and seek where every character has a story and are not what they seem.
‘Jaane Jaan’ showcases Sujoy Ghosh’s signature crime thriller directorial style that has Kareena Kapoor Khan in a whole new look, bare faced, striking and playing the role of a mother. Jaideep Ahlawat is seen in never seen before look and Vijay Varma plays the role of a handsome police officer. The film is based in Kalimpong and is the official adaptation of the bestselling novel ‘Devotion of Suspect X’ by Keigo Higashino.
Produced by Jay Shewakramani, Akshai Puri, Hyunwoo Thomas Kim, Shobha Kapoor and Ekta R Kapoor, ‘Jane Jaan’ is backed by 12th Street Entertainment, Northern Lights Films in association with Kross Pictures and Balaji Motion Pictures. ‘Jaane Jaan’ will premiere only on Netflix on Kareena Kapoor’s birthday on 21st September, 2023.
