Sanjay Leela Bhansali is an exceptional multi-talented artist and he proves it yet again with ‘Jab Saiyaan’, the new single from his upcoming Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. Sung by the melodious Shreya Ghoshal with lyrics from A. M. Turaz and music by the maestro Bhansali himself, ‘Jab Saiyaan’ is purely magical.
‘Jab Saiyaan’ is supposed to take the audience on a journey filled with love and a lot more. The video features a flirty game of love between Alia Bhatt and Shantanu Maheshwari, who is making his film debut with ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. One cannot miss the sizzling, mischievous and mysterious chemistry between the two, set in a magical world where nothing else seems important.
Alia who plays the lead role in the film is seen flirting with Shantanu who is seen doing the job of a tailor across the street from her. While the liking is mutual, given her status and power, he seems a little nervous in reciprocating the flirt initially but still dares to go ahead only to know that she likes it. The sweet, naughty romance between the two has been highlighted perfectly throughout the song.
‘Jab Saiyaan’ portrays what Gangubai feels about love and Shreya Ghoshal’s beautiful voice makes it more so mesmerising with Bhansali’s composition adding the sparkle.
Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and starring Ali Bhatt, Vijay Raaz, Shantanu Maheshwari, Ajay Devgn and more, ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ will have its world premiere at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival and will then release in theatres on 25th February, 2022.
