Only a few days ago Dhanush and his upcoming film ‘Jagame Thandhiram’ were a hot topic for the disagreement the actor and the producer had over the film’s release format. While Dhanush wants the film to have a theatrical release, its producer seems to be in favour of going for the OTT route.
Though there’s still no clarity on whether ‘Jagame Thandhiram‘ will come on Netflix or in theatres, the issue seems to have lost the steam for now. Not only that, there’s no official word on when the film will release (earlier there were speculations about it coming out late this month or during early to mid-March). Instead the talks for Dhanush’s another upcoming film ‘Karnan’, that is confirmed for a theatrical run in April 2021, is gaining more ground.
Amidst all this, Dhanush has always been very clear about his stand for his films going to cinemas and has kept his thoughts out in the open and known to all. He not only expressed his gratitude when ‘Karnan’s’ theatrical release date was finalised but also wrote about what he hopes for ‘Jagame Thandhiram’.

I am hoping for the theatrical release of Jagame Thandiram like the theatre owners, exhibitors, distributors, cinema lovers and most of all my fans. Fingers crossed

As of now, the hype around ‘Karnan’ has kept Dhanush fans engaged but that nowhere means that they aren’t waiting eagerly for an update on ‘Jagame Thandhiram’. Moreover, now that the theatres are allowed to run at full capacity, it’s not just Dhanush and his fans, but also the theatre owners, distributors, exhibitors and all cinema lovers, who want mass films like ‘Jagame Thandhiram’ to go for the big screen release.
For now, we need to wait and see what fate does the producer of ‘Jagame Thandhiram’ decide for it and will it be what Dhanush and his fans hope for or not.
