Jai Ho was made by film producer Jeevan Nazar, scriptwriters Nishad Koya and Muhammed Salman. The streaming platform is targeting films that haven’t had a theatrical or OTT release due to various factors. Jai Ho plans to stream movies, web series, short films, and documentaries on their streaming platform.
However, the amazing part isn’t just that they are targeting films that haven’t found a home yet, they are also offering special contract models for each and every film. The producer of the film will get to keep the streaming rights of the film when streaming the movie on Jai Ho while also receiving 70% of the profits made when streaming on the OTT platform. The OTT will run on a VOD format, and the producer can set the price for watching the film on the platform. And if the production house is not impressed by their services, they also have the right to withdraw the film from the platform whenever they wish. They also have the option to release the film anywhere else as well, should they find an opportunity to do so.
Unlike most OTT platforms which only try to keep the subscribers happy, Jai Ho knows that they have to keep their possible recurring clients happy as well. This is a smart movie on Jai Ho’s part and if it does become successful, we wouldn’t be surprised if any of the other streaming platforms (regional or otherwise) attempt in copying this model.
