Three eagerly anticipated movies namely ‘KGF Chapter 2’, ‘Jersey’ and ‘Beast’ will release in theatres next week. While ‘KGF Chapter 2’ and ‘Jersey’ are set to face a direct box office clash on 14th April, ‘Beast’ will release a day earlier on 13th April.
In an interesting development for the film exhibition sector, Jaipur’s prestigious and iconic movie theatre Raj Mandir Cinema will showcase Shahid Kapoor’s sports drama ‘Jersey’ instead of the impending blockbuster actioner ‘KGF: Chapter 2’. The same can be confirmed from the popular movie ticketing portal BookMyShow (screenshot attached below).

Diehard fans of Yash and ‘KGF: Chapter 1’ will naturally be disappointed with the update. Having said that, the makers of ‘Jersey’ seem to be supremely confident of their end product owing to their decision to release the film alongside the massively mounted ‘KGF: Chapter 2’.
Jersey’s trailer has also touched the right chords with the audiences and many fans are eagerly awaiting the film’s release. So, maybe it’s somewhat unfair to compare these two disparate films as both of them have their own target audience depending on different regions and fan following.
About the films:
KGF: Chapter 2
It’s the second and final installment of Prashanth Neel’s 2018 directorial film K.G.F: Chapter 1’. Kannada star Yash reprises his role as the top-notch assassin Rocky who masqueraded as a laborer in the titular Kolar Gold Fields in the first film. The sequel also features Sanjay Dutt as the antagonist Adheera, Raveena Tandon, and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles.
Jersey
The Shahid Kapoor starrer cricket-based drama ‘Jersey’ is a remake of the 2019 Telugu film of the same name. The film is an underdog story that revolves around a retired cricketer who makes it his mission, despite his wife’s resistance and against all odds, to revive his sports career for his son and to prove his detractors wrong.
