Proficient Hollywood actor Jake Gyllenhaal, who is basking in the glory for his critically acclaimed performance in Antoine Fuqua’s 911 thriller movie ‘The Guilty’, has now been roped in to star in a heist thriller film titled ‘Cut & Run’. Besides starring in the new project, he will also act as one of the film’s producers.
The movie’s underlying premise revolves around a group of thieves who use high-powered speedboats to execute heists and rob super-yachts. However, things take a U-turn for the gang when they steal the wrong thing from the wrong set of people. From the film’s plotline, it seems that Jake Gyllenhaal’s movie will certainly be an adrenaline-filled undertaking – kind of a thematic crossover between Fast and Furious and Don’t Breathe movies.
The script for the heist flick ‘Cut & Run’ has been penned by John Glenn, who had previously lent his writing skills for the 2008 techno-thriller ‘Eagle Eye’ besides the thriller television series ‘Allegiance’ and war drama show ‘SEAL Team’. He will co-produce the film alongside Brian Oliver and Bradley Fischer’s New Republic, and Jake Gyllenhaal.
After ‘The Guilty’ and ‘Cut & Run’, Jake Gyllenhaal seems to be continuing his tryst with the thriller genre. The Oscar-nominated actor will next be seen in Michael Bay’s upcoming heist thriller action flick ‘Ambulance’, which was recently pushed back to 8th April 2022. The ‘Spider-Man: Far from Home’ actor’s forthcoming projects include the pandemic-based thriller ‘The Division’, crime drama mini-series ‘The Son’, survival thriller ‘Suddenly’, and comic-book-based superhero flick ‘Prophet’, amongst others.
