Netflix announced its entire slate for the rest of 2021 recently including Jake Gyllenhaal’s ’The Guilty’. The film that is scheduled for release on 1st October is a dramatic thriller based on the Gustav Moller-directed Danish drama “Den Skyldige,” which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.
Antoine Fuqua (‘Southpaw’, ‘The Magnificent Seven’) has directed the film with a script from Nic Pizzolatto (‘True Detective’). As per Netflix, ‘The Guilty’ takes place over the course of a single morning in a 911 dispatch call center. Call operator Joe Bayler (Gyllenhaal) tries to save a caller in grave danger—but he soon discovers that nothing is as it seems, and facing the truth is the only way out.
Netflix recently dropped the first look of the film featuring Jake Gyllenhaal in an all black attire wtih a blue ID card hanging around his neck. An intensely serious and tensed look donned by Jake backed with a dimly lit backdrop give a sinister feel adding to the thrilling genre of the film.
