The official trailer of Antony Varghese Pepe’s next film has been released. Titled ‘O Meri Laila‘, the movie is looking to be a hilarious experience at the theatres.
‘O Meri Laila’ is directed by Abhishek K.S. and the barely two minutes trailer promises a fun ride. Pepe stars as the college student Lailasuran. A not-so-common name that is sure to churn out interesting jokes from friends, the movie seems to follow his student life. Produced by Dr Paul Varghese, the movie is written by Anuraj O.B.
The premise of the movie is quite relatable to Kerala’s college students and those fans who are familiar with Malayalam movies like ‘Oru Mexican Aparatha’ that take place in similar premises. ‘O Meri Laila’ portrays the intense rivalry that is present within most colleges between students of different political ideologies. Add to that some hilarious incidents that are sure to happen in students’ life- especially their love lives- the movie promises a rollercoaster of fun moments.
Lovingly and popularly called Pepe, Antony Varghese Pepe’s last film was the direct-to-OTT Sony Liv film ‘Innale Vare’ directed by ‘Sunday Holiday’ director Jis Joy. Debuting in the industry in Lijo Jose Pellissery’s ‘Angamaly Diaries’, the choosy actor is best known for his works like ‘Jallikattu’ which was India’s Official entry to The Oscars last year and this year’s box office blockbuster ‘Ajagajantharam'( you might not have forgotten the youtube hit ‘Olluleru’, a peppy song from the movie).
‘O Meri Laila’ also stars Nandu and Senthil Krishna. The role according to fans is a much-needed change for Pepe who is mostly seen in dark dramas. He has a lot of movies up for release, one amongst them is the biggie ‘RDX’, an action entertainer alongside Shane Nigam( Kumbalangi Nights) and Neeraj Madhav( The Family Man series), to be produced by ‘Minnal Murali’ and ‘Bangalore Days’ producer Sophia Paul.
