Director James Cameron has opened up about making Avatar 6 & 7 in the future. As production for the upcoming Avatar sequels is underway, the Titanic director is looking to explore every inch of the Pandora universe. Thanks to the grand success of Avatar: The Way of Water, which grossed over $2 billion globally. The second part’s commercial and critical success is the reason why we are getting more parts of Avatar.
In a recent interview with People, helmer James Cameron discussed his ideas about Avatar 6 & 7. However, the odds of Cameron directing them are dim, considering the filmmaker’s growing age. At present, he is 69 years old. By the time Avatar 5 comes out, he will be 76. We should expect to get a new helmer for the sixth and seventh Avatar movies.
“We’ve fully written through movie five, and I’ve got ideas for six and seven, although I’ll probably be handing the baton on that point. I mean, mortality catches up. But I mean, we’re enjoying what we’re doing. We’re loving it. We get to work with great people.”
The Avatar franchise is one of those rare movie franchises across the globe that can be explored to great lengths. It can stand the test of time. However, good storylines and engaging characters will be needed to move forward successfully. Whether James Cameron ends up helming the sixth and seventh Avatar films or hands over their direction to a deserving candidate, the world of Pandora treasures imagination that is boundless and perpetual, opening the path for the cultivation of several outstanding and thrilling stories.
We don’t know if Avatar 6 & 7 have received the green light from 20th Century Fox. Their confirmation depends heavily upon the performances of the upcoming sequels. Let’s see how James Cameron handles them. Stay tuned for more updates.
