It has been more than two years since James Gunn’s superhero series ‘Peacemaker Seaosn-1’ headlined by wrestler turned actor John Cena premiered on HBO Max. The series was soon renewed for a second season, and it is expected to integrate with James Gunn’s new DC Universe.
For those of you who have been eagerly waiting for an update on ‘Peacemaker Season-2’, let us inform you that James Gunn has just confirmed that he is done writing the eighth episode for the upcoming season. And since ‘Peacemaker S2’ is expected to be an eight-episode affair, it is safe to assume that the writing part for Season-2 is completed. Now, fans will now be waiting for the second season to begin filming soon.
Created by James Gunn, ‘Peacemaker’ series is set after the events of his own film ‘The Suicide Squad’ and follows the journey of the adorably eccentric anti-hero Christopher Smith aka Peacemaker (played by wrestler turned actor John Cena), who is enlisted for a world-saving mission called Project Butterfly with a black-ops team. In India, ‘Peacemaker S1’ started streaming on Amazon Prime Video from August 2022 but it’s currently not streaming anywhere on Indian OTT.
‘Peacemaker Season-1’ gained a massive fan base after its release. The series currently holds a highly impressive critics’ score of 94% on reviews aggregation portal Rotten Tomatoes. On IMDb, it has got a user rating of 8.3/10, which is quite good. Besides ‘Peacemaker Season-2’, James Gunn is also busy with his next directorial feature film – ‘Superman: Legacy’, which is slated for a theatrical release in July 2025.
