The full list of the nominees for the 96th edition of the prestigious Academy Awards was announced a few days back. Now, the stage is all set for the Oscars, whose winners will be announced on 10th March in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
Among the list of 2024 Oscar nominated films, five films were shortlisted for the ‘Best International Feature Film’ category. They were ‘Io Capitano’ (from Italy), ‘Society of the Snow’ (from Spain), ‘The Zone of Interest’ (from the UK), ‘The Teachers’ Lounge’ (from Germany), and ‘Perfect World’ (from Japan).
Among these Oscar nominated international films, only ‘Society of the Snow’ has already started streaming on an Indian OTT platform – Netflix. The remaining four are yet to make their entries in the Indian streaming world.
But the good news for all Indian cinephiles is that Japan’s official Oscar 2024 entry ‘Perfect Days’ will soon start streaming in India on the Mubi OTT platform.
Helmed by Wim Wenders, ‘Perfect Days’ follows the story of a man named Hirayama (played by Koji Yakusho), who works as a toilet cleaner in Tokyo, but he is utterly content with his simple life. Alongside his job, he spends his time following his passions – books, music, and photography. Thereafter, a series of unexpected encounters begin to reveal more from his past.
‘Perfect Days’ received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. It has got an impressive 93% critics’ score on reviews aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes. You can watch the film’s trailer below. And stay tuned to Binged for ‘Perfect Days’ OTT release date on Mubi in India.
