The talks of Jason Momoa joining James Gunn’s DCU as Lobo have been going on since the final days of the DC Extended Universe. The Aquaman actor has also shown interest in playing the popular DC villain in the past. Now, a rumor has surfaced that a new character will appear in the forthcoming ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ film. DC Studios is reportedly eyeing Jason Momoa for that role. While not providing specifics, the character is rumored to be very similar to none other than Lobo.
This is still a rumor, with no official announcement from James Gunn or any other DC Studios and Warner Bros. representative. However, it does hold some weight. The casting process for the upcoming Supergirl movie is underway, with House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock set to lead the film. Production is expected to commence this fall.

In the comics, Lobo is depicted as a notorious intergalactic bounty hunter, the last remaining survivor from the planet Czarnia. This planet’s inhabitants are well-known for their regeneration abilities – meaning they can only be killed by their own kind. Many comic storylines have displayed his physical strength matching Superman’s. Moreover, Lobo possesses superhuman durability.
Craig Gillespie will helm ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’. It is set for a theatrical release on June 26, 2026. Stay tuned for more updates.
