Critically acclaimed Malayalam thriller ‘John Luther‘ (2022) starring Jayasurya in lead role will start streaming on Manorama Max from July last week. The film released theatrically on May 27th and the streamer hasn’t revealed the exact streaming date of the film.
Directed by Abhijith Joseph, John Luther follows a circle inspector named after the film as he investigates two crime cases. John Luther suffers from a unilateral hearing impairment following an accident that hinders his course of investigation. How John Luther solves the two bothersome crime cases forms the crux of the film. The film recieved positive critical reception with raving reviews for Jayasurya’s performance as a hearing impaired Police Officer. The only meddling aspect of the film was its third act.Although the film didn’t work well at the movies, it is expected to do better on streaming.
John Luther is Abhijith Joseph’s debut film. He also penned the screenplay himself. The film was produced by Thomas P Mathew for Alonsa Films and Christeena Thomas. Actors Deepak Parambol and Siddique also appear in the film in prominent roles. ManoramaMAX is available as an additional independent channel with an add-on subscription fee on Amazon Prime Video as well.
