Netflix is a wholesome streaming service. It has movies and series for every member of the family, of every age and gender and also something for the entire family altogether. Netflix’s latest film “Yes Day” is one such film that you can watch anytime and with anyone and everyone. Releasing on the 12th of March “Yes Day” is based on the children’s book of the same name written by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld.
The movie is about a family of five that includes the mom and dad and their moody, rebellious eldest daughter along with two younger ones who are right now at that phase where they will do the opposite of anything and everything their parents tell. To keep the children in check and like every other parent, it has become a habit for the mom and dad to continuously scream at the things their children say.
This is what makes the sibling go on full on annihilation mode and there is no stopping them after that. One thing the parents are somewhat afraid of is when they know someone else’s parents have done something way cooler than them. The smart siblings feed into this fear and tell the parents the concept of “yes day”. Yes Day is a day when the kids get to make the rules and the parents have to agree to everything they put forward as a part of their deal. Reluctant at first, the parents agree to the terms and conditions of this deadly day just to say they can prove it to their kids that they are cool too.
With the aim to make their kids happy and underestimating the power of their destruction, the 24 hours for them begins. Yes Day stars Jennifer Garner, Edgar Ramirez and Jenna Ortega in the lead, and is directed by Miguel Arteta. Jennifer Garner also serves as the producer of the movie. This movie is most definitely something that the entire family needs to sit down together to watch.
Back in 2018-19 Buzzfeed came out with a challenge similar to this where an employee of theirs says yes to everything her kids say. They came out with different variations for the same and later the trend became famous and YouTubers and content creators started making their own versions of that without involving anyone’s kids.
