Popular actress Jennifer Lawrence will soon be seen in a dark satirical comedy movie called ‘Don’t Look Up’. It’s an Adam McKay production and it has been picked up by Netflix.
The movie will have Rob Morgan as Jennifer Lawrence’s co-star. The narrative revolves around a pair of young lower level astronomers who discover that a comet is approaching Earth, which will collide with the planet and destroy everything within minutes.
The duo must warn the world about the danger that’s about to strike. They take recourse to a giant media tour to warn earthlings of the approaching disaster. Don’t Look Up is a satirical comedy, hugely relevant to today’s times.
Jennifer Lawrence’s appearance in the movie addresses a long-standing demand of fans to see her in a comedy flick. Don’t Look Up is likely to fulfil that criterion, with its focus on drawing laughs.
Don’t Look Up will mark Jennifer Lawrence’s return to filmdom, after an extended, self-imposed 2-year hiatus. Her last full-fledged film was Red Sparrow in 2018, save for a brief appearance in the 2019 X-Men: Dark Phoenix. This is the first time she will appear in an out and out comedy flick.
McKay is the well-known creator of 2018’s Vice, which received 8 Oscar nominations, and 2016’s The Big Short, which won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay.
