Jimmy Shergill’s new series ‘Choona’ will be streaming on Netflix very soon. It is going to be a thrilling heist drama with Shergill in the lead and many other actors like Namit Das, Monika Panwar, Aashim Gulati, Vikram Kochhar, Gyanendra Tripathi, Chandan Roy, Atul Srivastava and Niharika Lyra Dutt in major roles. It will be premiering on the platform on August 2nd.
‘Choona’ tells the story of six angry people who are stripped off their power and position by a corrupt and powerful politician. They make a plan for revenge on the politician. They find a weakness in him, that is, he is superstitious.
The drama is written and directed by filmmaker Pushpendra Nath Misra. He has previously directed the comedy movie ‘Ghoomketu’ with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead. This is his debut series and there will be a tint of comedy in the action series and we have seen in Ghoomketu that he is pretty good in comedy. Puspendra says about the show, “What comes to your mind when you hear the word Choona? For me, it is the quintessentially Indian flavour of ‘choona lagaana’.”
No teaser or trailer for the show has been released and in spite of its being there in news for quite some time no updates had been given for so long. Now that the release date is revealed, hopefully the trailer too will be released soon. If you like revenge dramas, you can give it a go. Watch Choona when it releases on the 2nd of August.
