Olivia Colman and John Lithgow will now be starring together in an upcoming project. The two will be seen in ‘Jimpa’, a lighthearted queer story.
Australian writer and director Sophie Hyde is helming the project. She is known for movies like ‘An Ideal Wife’, ‘Animals’, and of course the most recent ‘Good Luck To You, Leo Grande’.
Jimpa tells the story of a homosexual old man named Jimpa, played by John Lithgow. Colman, playing his daughter-in-law, takes her child Frances, a Transgender non-binary teenager to Jimpa to live with him for some days. Frances wants to live with grandfather Jimpa in Amsterdam for a year but the mother does not want it to be so. She has to reconsider her ideas of parenting and happiness to come to terms with the recent developments in Amsterdam. The story will be a heartfelt and touchy story with not many emotionally hectic moments.
‘Good Luck To You, Leo Grande’ was received with much appreciation by audiences, and hopefully ‘Jimpa’ too will be able to impress the critics and audiences.
With Golden Globe winner John Lithgow, and Academy Award winning actress Olivia Colman, it will be a treat for the fans. There will definitely be some wonderful performances. The other cast members will be announced soon.
Release dates for the movie have not been revealed as of now.
