Valentine’s Day has brought two long-lost lovers together. We are talking about JioCinema and Disney+Hotstar. The two have officially merged after more than a year of procedures and speculations.
The two started teasing this merger last day and see, it is already here.
Interestingly, the JioCinema domain is working just like that (with flashes of JioHotstar). However, Hotstar.com has been totally rebranded and thankfully the plans remain the same as usual.
JioStar has brought JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar together to create JioHotstar, a single platform for all entertainment needs. With over 50 crore users and 3 lakh hours of content, it is now a formidable force in the Indian OTT space.
JioHotstar offers everything in one place. Disney movies, HBO series, blockbuster films, and live sports. It also supports 19 languages which is sort of unimaginable for other platforms.
The best part is affordability. They have not increased the price of this rebranded thing. Plans start at just ₹149, and existing JioCinema and Hotstar users can smoothly switch to JioHotstar.
For sports fans, JioHotstar is a dream come true. It will stream IPL, ICC tournaments, WPL, Premier League, Wimbledon, Pro Kabaddi, and ISL. Even grassroots cricket events will be featured, making it the go-to platform for all sports lovers.
However, the only doubtful element is that of the quality. We hope that the ad policy and sports streaming on the platform come out smoothly for the fans. Let’s see how it goes.
