Jio Cinema’s ‘I Love You’ Trailer: Old Wine In New Bottle
Jio Cinema has just launched the official trailer for its upcoming direct digital release, ‘I Love You’. The film will release on Jio Cinema on 16th June, 2023. The ‘I Love You’ trailer promises a film that merely seems to be old wine in a new bottle.
Rakul Preet Singh plays the lead protagonist in ‘I Love You’. She essays a strong independent working woman in the film, who’s wooed by the love of her life, played by Pavail Gulati. However, unbeknownst to her, she has another suitor, who’s obsessed with the woman. Akshay Oberoi seems to be the obsessed suitor, though it’s not immediately clear from the trailer. The trailer takes a dark, suspenseful turn at this point, with brutal violence at the centre of the story. Kiran Kumar also has a critical role in ‘I Love You’.
The ‘I Love You’ trailer hints at a film strikingly similar to Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla’s Darr. Netizens have also pointed out the similarities between the ‘I Love You’ trailer and Netflix show, ‘You’. The tagline of the film gives away a bit about the film. It reads, “Jab Pyaar ban jaye Obsession, toh kya hoga aisi Love Story ka Conclusion”.
I Love You is produced by Jio Studios, in association with Athena & The Vermillion World Production. It is written and directed by Nikhil Mahajan, and produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Sunir Kheterpal and Gaurav Bose.
