JioCinema and NBCUniversal have entered a multi-year deal, allowing the former streaming service to bestow thousands of hours of NBCU streaming content to Indian viewers. Owned by Viacom18, JioCinema recently also partnered with Warner Bros Discovery for Warner Bros, HBO Max (now Max), and HBO network content in the country.
The newest partnership with NBCU has significantly strengthened JioCinema’s library, which will now encompass globally prominent content from Comcast NBCU’s production units and brands, such as UCP, Universal Television, Universal Television Alternative Studio, Universal International Studios, DreamWorks Animation, Sky Studios, Focus Features, Universal Pictures, Bravo, and more.
Some of the shows that will arrive early on JioCinema due to this deal are The Lovers, The Lazarus Project, and Young Rock. Additionally, Indian viewers will get The Calling, Pitch Perfect: Bumper In Berlin, Downtown Abbey, The Office, Bel-Air, Parks And Recreation, and many more.
Apart from all the titles mentioned above, the partnership also encompasses the highly-anticipated Oppenheimer (after the theatrical release), helmed by Christopher Nolan. Other popular movie titles include Super Mario Bros. Movie, M3GAN, Puss In Boots: The Last Wish, The Mummy series, Pitch Perfect series, Jurassic franchise, Minions franchise, Fast & Furious entries, and more.
Starting next month, JioCinema’s latest SVOD tier, “JioCinema Premium”, will serve as the exclusive platform for NBCU’s programming under the Peacock brand for Indian viewers. Stay tuned for more updates.
