Sherlock Holmes is one of the best characters ever created in the history of literature. Add the spice of Desi tadka, and you get characters like Feluda and Byomkesh Bakshi, formed in the mold of the man from 221B Baker Street, London. Now, Sherlock meets Shekhar in a modern adaptation by JioCinema.
We all love our murder mysteries and thrillers, and the trailer didn’t disappoint. Set in the heart of Bengal, Kolkata is the workplace of Shekhar as he shows his spark with some magical deduction.
The trailer not only acquainted us with the magical mind of Shekhar, but we also saw Ranvir Shorey as an adaptation of Dr. Watson, who is not his assistant but a partner.
The pacing of the trailer is quite good, and we can expect the same from the series itself. Though some might raise questions regarding the quality of production, it successfully holds a retro vibe, which is always appreciated.
We also saw glimpses of Rasika Dugal, who is as dashing as ever. Shreya Dhanwanthary was in for a few frames too, but fans are kept in the dark about most characters.
Without nitpicking, the trailer delivers. And as we can expect at least one more trailer down the road, this is a good enough start to build the hype. Fans are quite excited about the show, and if JioCinema can deliver, they will start to earn some credit.
