A new trailer for the forthcoming web series Om Kali Jai Kali has been released by JioHotstar. The show will be a Hotstar Special, starring Vimal in the lead role. The actor delivers a heartfelt and intense portrayal of a character inspired by Devi Kali.
Om Kali Jai Kali is set in the rural village of Vanadhesam (near Thirunelveli) and explores themes of justice and vengeance. The latest trailer showcases plenty of bloody, hard-hitting action sequences and powerful performances, with a particular focus on cultural elements and celebrations dedicated to the deity Kali. The web series is helmed by Ramu Chellappa.
The clip opens with an elderly woman informing Vimal’s character that he and his men have killed a powerful MLA candidate. This incident forces the MLA’s gang, led by AJ, Raasadurai, and Thamburaan, to hunt down Vimal’s character and his men.
Vimal is seen living an ordinary life while also donning Kali’s costume and embarking on a killing spree to eliminate the bad guys. The MLA candidate’s shocking death drives his gang leaders to burn Vanadhesam to the ground—but they are unaware of the formidable threat they must face first: Vimal’s character.
Apart from Vimal, Om Kali Jai Kali boasts a talented ensemble cast, including R.S. Sivaji, Seema Biswas, Kumaravel, G.M. Kumar, Prema, Ganja Karuppu, Pavani, Queency, and more.
The upcoming web series features original music by Karthik Raja and visual effects by Sri Visual Effects. The story and script were developed by Kumaravel and Ramu Chellappa, with the latter also handling the dialogue. Action sequences were choreographed by K. Rajasekhar, while Sudarsanan and Anitha crafted the sound design.
