JioHotstar’s streaming of the ICC Champions Trophy is drawing heavy criticism from users, particularly those using the TV app. Many have taken to social media to voice their frustration, citing frequent stutters, playback issues, and an overall poor viewing experience despite having high-speed internet connections and premium subscriptions.
A recurring complaint is the constant replay of alternate balls, making live matches feel like déjà vu. One user described it as “horrific,” while another called out the platform for charging premium rates but failing to deliver a 4K experience. Users with stable internet speeds, even up to 300 Mbps, are still experiencing lags and app crashes, especially on LG TVs and Android smart TVs.
Another major issue seems to be ad-related freezes—streams reportedly hang every time an ad plays, forcing viewers to restart the app. The sluggish response from customer support only adds to the frustration.
With such widespread dissatisfaction, JioHotstar needs to act quickly to resolve these issues before they further alienate sports fans. As of now, the Champions Trophy’s biggest challenge isn’t on the field—it’s on users’ screens.
