The trailer for John Abraham’s upcoming film ‘The Diplomat’ is here and this time its more than just action. Helmed by Shivam Nair, ‘The Diplomat’ is set to release in cinemas on 7th March, 2025.
The trailer begins with a blast outside the Indian embassy’s office in Pakistan. The next frame sees a burkha clad woman named Uzma Ahmed approaching the embassy asking for help. Turns out she is an Indian citizen and was deceptively and forcibly married to man who is now assaulting her.
What follows is a series of negotiations led by a high ranking official in the Indian embassy in Pakistan (played by Abraham). With reassurance from the home minister of India and the court proceedings in Pakistan, the process is initiated but a larger threat looms and the officer is the one who comes to rescue.
There are certain question left unanswered in ‘The Dilpomat’ trailer but still it gives away pretty much the essence of the story. What could have been more thrilling alongside igniting the patriotic spirit, seems to lean more on the latter. One notable good change is John Abraham doing more talking than just showcasing his masculinity through action stunts.
Directed by Shivam Nair (‘Special Ops’, ‘Naam Shabana’) and written by Ritesh Shah, ‘The Diplomat’ also stars Sadia Khateeb, Revathy, Kumud Mishra and Sharib Hashmi. Produced by T-Series, JA Entertainment, Fortune Pictures and Wakaoo Films, ‘The Diplomat’ will release on the big screen on 7th March, 2025.
