Netflix is all set for ‘Beckett’, a dramatic action-thriller coming to the platform this August. Starting John David Washington in the lead, ‘Beckett’ has officially been selected as the opening film at the Locarno Film Festival and will release on Netflix on 13th August, 2021.
‘Beckett’ follows the story of an American man named Beckett (John David Washington), who goes for a vacation in Greece. But this vacation soon turns into a disaster after a tragic accident which gets him entangled in a dangerous web of political conspiracy and also makes him the target of a manhunt.
‘Beckett’ is directed by Ferdinando Cito Filomarino (‘Antonia’), who has also written the film’s story with a screenplay by Kevin A. Rice. Alongside Washington (‘Tenet’, ‘Malcolm & Marie’), ‘Beckett’ also stars Alicia Vikander (‘The Danish Girl’, ‘Tomb Raider’, Ex Machina’), Boyd Holbrook (‘Narcos’, ‘Logan’) and Vicky Krieps (‘The Phantom Thread’, ‘Das Boot’) among others.
Coming from the producers of ‘Call Me By Your Name’ and ‘Suspiria’, ‘Beckett’ has been produced by Luca Guadagnino and Marco Morabito for Frenesy Films in association with Francesco Melfi d’Eril and Gabriele Moratti for MeMo with Raicinema.
